‘One of the things I love most about being a Play Therapist is helping children discover their own inner confidence and self-worth.
Many of the children I support have spent much of their lives being told what they can and can’t do because of their medical needs. While these decisions are necessary, they can sometimes leave children feeling as though they have little control over their own lives.
Through Play Therapy, I aim to help children recognise their strengths, trust their own feelings, and develop the ability to validate themselves. Seeing a child move from seeking constant reassurance from others to believing in themselves is incredibly rewarding.
For me, it’s about helping children realise that they are so much more than their diagnosis and empowering them to see their own value’.
