Are you a parent or caregiver of a child with a cardiac condition?
Bristol Hospital are running an online group for parents called Take a Breath. This group is uses
principles from a type of psychological therapy called Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
(ACT).
Take a Breath aims to give you some practical skills to help you live in line with your values,
alongside the uncertainty that being a parent to a child with a cardiac condition may bring.
The group will work through a variety of skills including mindfulness, identifying what
matters to you and unhooking from distressing thoughts. This group will also provide an
opportunity for peer support.
When will the sessions take place?
There will be five weekly sessions followed by a booster session. Each Session will run from 10 am 11:30 am on the following dates:
Session 1: Wednesday 15 October
Session 2: Wednesday 22 October
Session 3: Wednesday 29 October
Session 4: Wednesday 5 November
Session 5: Wednesday 12 November
Booster session: Wednesday 3 December
Please note your child must be attending Bristol Hospital to attend these appointments.
