On Sunday 9th June 2024, some of our Heart Heroes and their siblings experienced an unforgettable day at the Gloucester-Hartpury Ladies match against the Exeter Chiefs, where they were honoured as Guards of Honour for the match and hosted an awareness stand in the fan zone.

The children took pride in their role, adding a special touch to the day's event by parading around the ground and then lining up as the guards of honour to welcome both teams out onto the pitch. Their enthusiasm and dedication did not go unnoticed, earning them applause and admiration from the crowd.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity for the Heart Heroes to meet their sports ambassador, Alex Matthews, adding an extra layer of excitement and inspiration for the young attendees. Alex Matthews's support has been a cornerstone for Heart Heroes, and her presence at the match was a significant morale boost for the children and their families.

The event concluded on a high note as the Gloucester-Hartpury Ladies delivered an outstanding performance, securing their place in the final. The victory was celebrated by all, marking a memorable day for both the team and Heart Heroes.

Special thanks are extended to Suzanne, Dan, and Hannah, whose volunteer efforts were instrumental in making the day a success. Their dedication ensured that the Heart Heroes presence was both impactful and enjoyable, furthering awareness and support for the cause.

Heart Heroes involvement in the Gloucester-Hartpury Ladies' match exemplifies the power of community and the importance of supporting children with heart conditions. As the team advances to the final, the Heart Heroes will undoubtedly be cheering them on, inspired by the resilience and strength demonstrated both on and off the field.
