Thank you to everyone who volunteers their time and effort to make our community a better place! We'd love to hear your feedback about the volunteer experience — what went well, what could use some improvement, and any other insights you'd like to share. Your input is invaluable!

Spirax Sarco volunteer Grace said…As someone with family members who are part of the Heart Hero's family, and witnessing the incredible support and care that they have provided to my family over the last 4 years, I wanted to be able to do my bit to give something back. The impact that you have had on my family over the recent years has been something we could never thank you enough for, seeing the relief that my Cousin feels knowing that her Daughter has a safe space to make friends and be surrounded by children who are similar to her has been amazing, and watching my Cousins little girl grow into a confident, happy, friendly and sociable child, with zero negative feelings about her scar or heart condition is something I am sure everyone wishes they could witness if they were in a similar position.

Growing up with my Cousin, who also has a heart condition and has since birth, had multiple heart surgeries and a chest scar has allowed me to be aware and somewhat educated about the world of living with a condition as big as something that impacts your heart – but this is not something that everyone experiences, and for people who may not have experienced something like this, if it were to suddenly happen within their family it could be incredibly scary and daunting; so a charity as amazing as Heart Heroes does provide a lifeline for families when they need it most.

In 2018 another baby in my family was born with a heart condition, which meant he needed heart surgery at only a few months old to save his life – if we had known about Heart Heroes at the time I am certain that the support, love and care provided by you all would have been more than needed and appreciated. This is why I think it is so important to spread awareness of everything that you do, and where possible, give back where we can to support you to reach even more families.

I loved being able to be part of your team for the night and to feel that I was able to give a little bit back for everything you have done for my family, and so many more families across the country – a thank you will never be enough, but we will continue to say it whenever we can.

I would jump at the opportunity to support and volunteer at one of your events again, and thank you so much for allowing us to be part of this one.
