Finally home after an 11 week hospital stay which was spent in Seahorse Intensive Care Unit and Dolphin Ward.
Heart Hero Poppy-Mae age 4 was admitted to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children on 1st November 2020 for her 3rd Open Heart Surgery on 2nd November 2020. And let’s just say it was a very bumpy road, after a 10 hour long heart surgery. 4 general anaesthetics, Pacemaker Surgery, being treated for infective Endocarditis, Blood Clots in her heart and much much more!
We’re so lucky to have her here with us today after how poorly she’s been especially right at the start.
We cannot thank the Surgeons, Doctors, Cardiologists/Consultants, Nurses, Play Specialists and all other staff involved in Poppy’s care enough for working their magic and once again saving her life and making it possible for us to bring her home to meet her baby sister who was born whilst Poppy was still in hospital on New Years Eve.
Dolphin Ward were wonderful with keeping Poppy Happy and making sure she had lots of fun things to do. Even making her Christmas in hospital the most special Christmas ever. Poppy grew a real bond with the nurses on the Ward and already misses them so much after only being home a few days.
They are real life angels and we’re forever grateful to every single one of them.
